What is a Giclee?

Giclee (pronounced Jhee-clay) from the French word that means spray or squirt and describes a high quality printing process whereby a digital photograph of the original art work is scanned onto paper or canvas.

The colours are a very accurate portrayal of the original painting. The giclée  has a long life expectancy of 70 – 100 years without fading and each giclée comes with a guarantee of life expectancy and authenticity.

This technique is considered nowadays to  be one of the most creative mediums available to today’s artists and is utilised in galleries such as the Louvre.
